Will you be my Valentine?

Here are my valentines collections for 2013. First are the 'Vintage Valentine' set. The soft pink & caramel colours are so romantic. I decided to stay away from the garish hearts & cutesy teddy bears and go for something a little more classy.

This is the 'Lulu Lips' collection, inspired by the very fabulous Lulu Guinness and her iconic lip shaped clutch bag. I have always loved her handbags and this idea came to me in a dream one night. Bright bold colours and classic Lulu striped domes adorned with luscious lips. My faves!

These 'Yours & Mine' cakes were the result of a bored evening. They are great and I've had alot of interest in them for valentines day & I'm hoping to recreate them with Mr & Mrs, perfect for weddings.

Cameos

There is an amazing lady in my life called Corinne and she runs Silly Con Moulds. I found her on facebook and she sells the most fantastic moulds for sugarpaste... EVER! These are a few of the new ones I have aquired , I love the rose, its so pretty, I'll be using this lots for Mothers day I think! I made the yellow one for my Mum, its her favourite flower. And the skeleton cameo was bought in especially for me! I love it, its so goth. I'm currently trying to find her a man!!

Garden Shed

A special 60th brithday cake for a man who loves his shed! Complete with pot plants, tools & veggie patch, I love this cake. it turned out so much better than I imagined it would. I bought the wood effect embosser last minute & I'm so glad I did, it really brings the cake to life.

Amp & Guitar

Hooray, I'm back up! Last weekend was Malcolms 60th birthday! The Eleys are like my 2nd family so I was over the moon when I was asked to make his cake! He was having a very groovy 60's & 70's theme and Maxine wanted a Marshall amp.I feared this could look like a big black block so we came up with the idea of making a replica of his favourite guitar. The amp was tricky, black fondant is very hard to work with & I'm not in a rush to make one again! But it looked brilliant and I love the 'Malcolm' badge instead of Marshall, really adds a personal touch. The guitar was 2 layers of chocolate mud cake with ganache, then covered with fondant. I have made a guitar before so wasn't too worried about this, I think it came out great and looked almost like the real one!!
