More cupcakery...

So I had a disaster last weekend. My plan was to make peaches & cream cupcakes but it all went wrong and the cakes came out like little stodgy blobs! So round 2 was roasted blueberry cupcakes with a chocolate sour cream frosting. Yum. For me, the frosting was slightly overpowering, the blueberry cakes were sweet & fluffy and although the chocolate was delicious, it would suit a plain choc or vanilla cake better. Will definitely try these cakes again but with a more simple frosting.

These are super cute mini cupcakes I made with some leftover cake mixture. I had a bag of pink frosting in the freezer so I whipped this up, added some sprinkles & they were a perfect little treat for the girls at work.

God Save The Cream

We celebrated the Queens Diamond Jubilee at work today with a tea party. All proceeds of the cake sale went to the Great Ormond Street Hospital so as a little treat I made a tiny tea party cake to auction off! This was a small 6" cake topped with miniature fondant cakes & tea, I took a pic with a 50p so you can see the scale. Its sooooooo cute, I just love the swiss roll! I really enjoyed making these little decorations and although they were fiddly I definitely want to do them again. The cake raised £30 for the charity which is great, and the lucky winner has a great cake for the centrepiece at their Jubilee party!

I also made cupcakes, one batch in red white & blue and another were a mix of cola and caramel.

Pimms O'Clock

So its been a little bit dreary the past few days so I thought I'd try & bring the sunshine with some Pimms cuppies! Bit disappointed as the cake wasn't Pimmsy enough for my liking and the frosting was a bit melty. Won't be using that recipe again but will try another variation of a Pimms cake soon.
