The Wonderful World of Harry Potter

I had so much fun making this cake. Last year Zack got a Lego Stormtrooper (one of my faves) and this year the birthday boy is really into Harry Potter so I knew I could make him a cake to remember. In the words of the magnificent Duff Goldman...Make it bigger, make it badder, make it awesome! I started with a spellbook made of cake, it was huuuuge! I added detail to the book and aged the pages. For the decoration I knew from the start I wanted to create some classic Harry Potter items so it had to be his glasses, the golden snitch, a Gryffindor scarf, potions, Bertie Botts Beans and a wand. It all came together so great and I was so proud of myself for pulling it off. Most definitely on my list of favourite cakes ever!

Electric Guitar

I loooooooove this cake I made for my wonderful friend Shaun. A truly rock n roll electric guitar for his big 3-0! This was a red velvet as its the birthday boys fave, covered in a bright blue fondant & decorated to look like a Fender. Challenging & not without its problems (dang shimmer dust!!) but it worked out in the end and looked great.

UFC Cake

This cake was for a good friend of mine. Her policeman fella was turning 30 so I tied together his love of UFC & his job by making the octagon ring with a number 30 made out of handcuffs!
