Disney Princess Cupcakes

It was Frans pre Florida hen party last night and I decided to make cupcakes (like I need an excuse!) It seemed only right to make an array of Disney princesses as she will be a Disney princess bride in just over a week!! I decided to make flat toppers so I could make them ahead of time, I think if I made them again I'd try to do dome tops. Really happy with them though, came out just as I imagined.

Pretty at 60

My favourite set of cupcakes, I really love them. These were for my mother-in-laws 60th birthday. Light lemon sponges with fondant dome tops and beautiful decorations. Frilly carnations, hand rolled pearls and heart cabochons... heaven

Iggle Piggle

This is the first of 2 Iggle Piggle cakes this week! A giant number one (hand cut, no shaped tins here!) with bright polka dots and a little Iggle Piggle sat at the top. I love the coloured balls around the cake (all hand rolled!) they really finish it off well.

Lemon Lace

I had the afternoon off work today so I came home & I made these little beauties, I'm so happy with them :-) I got my Sugarveil mat today so I HAD to use it straight away! I just embossed these dome tops, I'm yet to try the actual Sugarveil mix and Carinas Cupcakes fabulous Sugarveil-less technique. I made a beautiful carnation using a tutorial from Nylah's via Facebook. She is fabulous and makes the most spectactular cakes. She kindly shared her method of making perfect carnations and it turned out really well, I'll be making lots more of these in the future! I practiced my dome tops here and I'm getting better! They look much neater than last time. I love this set, very weddingy!

Cute as a button

This week I treated myself to some lovely button moulds from Carinas Cupcakes. I was so excited when they arrived I squidged some sugarpaste straight in them and made these cuties! The cakes were vanilla with orange flavoured frosting. I think I'll be using these mould alot, I love them!

Wicked

Wicked is the story of two witches and how one became good and one.... wicked. Brook looooooooves the musical so it made sense to make her Wicked themed cupcakes. Glinda's 'good witch' cakes were topped with pink fondant domes and sparkly wand, tiara, shoe & bubbles. Elphaba's 'bad witch' cakes were green fondant tops with witches hat, broom, Grimmerie (spellbook) and sparkly stars.
